Cholesterol Testing 1 by .. S. Angelo (Sterrett, AL, USA)
Very disappointed with this meter. The manual is outdated and therefore not at all useful. The 800 number isn't really up to date either...took a while to find out how to change date and time. Then started to try and test...no calibration chip included, as indicated in manual...finally tried using one of the strips as a calibration chip..that worked, but I had used an entire box of strips in an attempt to get a valid cholesterol reading, not to mention the number of times I had to stick my finger.

Bottom line, wouldn't recommend this meter under any circumstances! I returned mine and got a credit to my credit card..thankfully!

At minimum, the company should update the manual sent with meter..that might make a big difference...perhaps there are things that can be done on how the meter works...which are completely unknown and therefore, your testing is in vain and of no value.

I finally got readings of 4.9 on my cholesterol and then reinserted the same strip and got 3.5...same sample, different readings, readings that had no meaning what so ever...I sent mine back the next day.

Very Disappointed 1 by .. lannr (USA)
This device is either very difficult to use correctly or is not very accurate. I used the glucose strips that came with it and compared it with results using my older Accu-Chek. The Q.Steps meter reported numbers 20% to 25% below the numbers on the Accu-Chek. Because of the color of the place on the strip that receives the drop of blood (red), it is difficult to tell if you have applied enough. The second time I tried it, I did so under my desk lamp. The results were still inaccurate. I also tried the Cholesterol strips and do not have any confidence in the results - my cholesterol count has not gone down to 49 (displayed as 4.9 by the way). The owners manual that came with it was, as the other reviewer reported, for an older model.

I would not recommend this device.

Fast and easy 4 by .. Ben Kana (Walnut Creek, CA)
I did my first test today. The lancet was easy to use and didnt cause any pain. Cant comment on the accuracy of the result but it was around what I was expecting. The overall process was quite simple... Attach test strip, enter code, draw blood, drop it to the specified location on test strip. In under 30 seconds you can see the result.

No caibration needed as opposed to the previous version.

From what I could infer, you need to enter the code corresponding to new test strips that you buy every time. I had to fiddle with it a bit, but think its going to be easy next time.

One complaint...

They did a bad job with the packaging. They gave me a new version of the product and attached the manual for the previous version which needed a calibration chip. Apparantly somebody who wrote before me also faced the same issue. So had to contact their customer care to send in an updated guide.

So if you bought this item and cant locate the calibration chip mentioned in the manual you probably are looking at the wrong guide.

Over all a handy tool guys...
